DPR-42 50-306 DPR-60 Prairie Island Unit 2 Reactor Vessel Material Surveillance Proaram Reoort On May 29,1995 Prairie Island Unit 2 Vessel Material Surveillance Capsule "P" was removed from the reactor vessel. As stated in Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 50, Appendix H, Section lli (A), a summary technical report is to be submitted within one year of the above date, unless an extension is granted by the Director, Office of Nuclear Reator Regulation. A draft report of the capsule analysis has been issured to NSP but is stillin need of review and finalissuance. This letter is to request an extension in accordence with the above stated CFR section.
The pressure-temperature curves establishing heatup/cooldown limits currently in Prairie Island Technical Specification section 3.1 are valid until 1998. Furthermore, the draft report, based on the removed suveillance capsule, indicates that the new curves will be less restrictive than the current curves.
Our target date for submittal of the summary technical report is on or before July 31, 1996.
