Dear Sir:
1 Description of Occurrence On 4/22/96, the Unit 3 Vent Stack Wide Range Gas Radiation Monitor System was removed from service for a planned modification.
The Peach Bottom Technical Requirements Manual requires a special report submission when this system is inoperable greater than seven days. The system is expected to be returned to service by 5/25/96.
Corrective Actions Taken The Vent Stack Wide Range Gas Radiation Monitor System is used for post-accident monitoring. In the remote possibility that an accident was to occur during this period of inoperability, field survey teams would be dispatched to monitor radioactive effluents as defined in the Peach Bottom Emergency Plan.
Plan for Restorina Eauipment to an Operable Status The system _will be returned to service after modification work is complete. The work is expected to be complete by 5/25/96.
