Beaver Valley Power Station - Unit No. 2 Docket No. 50-412 Additional Infomation on Draft SER Open Item 46 (Loose Parts Monitoring System [LPMS])
REFERENCE:
2NRC-4-167, dated October 12, 1984 Gentlemen:
Duquesne Light Company (DLC) responded to Open Item 46 in letter 2NRC-4-167 of October 12, 1984.
Subsequent discussion with the NRC reviewer in early January 1985 needed on confomance to Regulatory Guide (R.G.) 1.pt that additional 133 paragraph C.4.k.
The following indicated that this response was acceptable exce infomation was additional infomation on this subject is provided.
R.G.1.133 paragraph C.4.k states that "The applicant should verify that the system within containment will be designed and installed to function following all seismic events up to and including the OBE."
DLC has taken exception to this as stated in FSAR Tabl e 1.8 where this system is affirmed to be non-seismically qual i fied.

DLC understands that Open Item 46 will be closed by virtue of this submittal.
