WITHDRAWAL OF REQUEST FOR EXEMPTION BOPE CRF.EK GENERATING STATION FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NPF-57 DOCKET NO. 50-354 Public Service Electric & Gas Company (PSE&G), in our letter LR-N96044, dated February 20, 1996, requested exemption from the requirements of 10CFR50, Appendix J, Section III.D.3 for the Hope Creek Generating Station.
The exemption would have permitted performance of Type C containment leak testing (Local Leak Rate Test) during power operation as well as during each reactor shutdown for refueling.
PSE&G currently plans to submit a request for a Technical Specifications change that will permit implementation of 10CFR50 Appendix J, Option B, as delineated in Regulatory Guide 1.163,
" Performance-Based Containment Leakage Test Program".
Inacouch as the provisions of Option B will eliminate the need for the above exemption, PSE&G hereby withdraws our request from NRC consideration for approval.
