Dear Mr. Thompson:
The Toledo Edison Company submitted to you on April 6, 1984 (Serial No.
1042), a schedule for completing certain evaluations to address the audit findings identified during the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) 10 CFR 50, Appendix R Audit, performed at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 1.
These schedules were further discussed and accepted at the NRC-Toledo Edison Audit Response Program Review meeting of June 12, 1984.
With regard to Fire Protection Manual Preplans revisions Toledo Edison identified that the revisions would not commence until completion of the Appendix R reassessment (Tasks 1 and 2) and would take approximately eleven months to complete. The completion date given in Serial 1042 was a typo-graphical error and should have been August 1, 1985, instead of March 1,
-1985, based upon the completion of the reassessment in September, 1984.
Currently the revisions to the Fire Protection Manual Preplans are on schedule 'for completion by August 1,1985.
