In accordance with 10 CFR 50.54 (p) and 10 CFR 50.4, Georgia Power Company hereby submits three copies of Amendment 30 to the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (VEGP)
Unit I and Unit 2 Physical Security and Contingency Plan (the Security Plan). By copy of this letter two copies of Amendment 30 are being provided to the NRC Region II office.
This Security Plan amendment incorporates the following:
Protection methodology in response to the new rule regarding malevolent use of vehicles at nuclear facilities, the design basis vehicle threat and design basis explosion, discussion of the vehicle barrier system (VBS) design, inspection and compensatory measures for both active and passive barriers, and addition of VBS terminology in the glossary.
Deletion of the requirement for a specific security officer post.
Two security camera char.ges.
Minor Security organizational change.
Change in the PA entry search requirement for security officers.
