Dear Sir:
This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act as amended (5 U.S.C.
552).
I request a complete and thorough search of all filing systems and locations for all records maintained by your agency pertaining to shipment of spent nuclear fuel from the Prairie Island nuclear power plant in Minnesota, Docket Nos. 50-282 and 50-306 and License Nos. DPR-42 and DPR-60.
For your reference, one document that would be included under this request is a letter dated June 22, 1984, from David Musolf of Northern States Power Co. to the Director of the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards.
I request that you send me copies of all documents pertaining to the planned or actual shipment of spent nuclear fuel from the Prairie Island plant.
If documents are denied in part or in whole, please specify which exemptionis) is claimed for each passage or whole document denied.
Please provide a complete itemized inventory and a detailed factual justification of total or partial denial of documents.
Specify the number of pages in each document and the total number of pages pertaining to this request.
As I expect to appeal any denials, please speify the office and address to which an appeal should be directed.
I believe that my request qualifies for a waiver of fees l
since the release of the requested information would primarily l
benefit the general public and be "in the public interest."
I am a reporter for the Rochester Post-Dulletin, and plan to publish the requested information in a newspaper which circulates near the Prairie Island plant.
