. Water Seal" concerning the failure.of a seal at' the Haddam Nuclear Plant.

.L i TVA responded to that Bulletin on October 2,' 1984.. During a series of

conference calls between TVA and NRC on October 15 and 16, your staff expressed concern 'over, the seal' at our Cequoyah Nuclear Plant' with regard

'to the current refueling outage on unit 2.

As a result of that concern, on October?16, 1984 in a. telephone conversation with members of your_ staff, P. = R. Wallace, :Sequoyah Plant Manager, committed to the following:

1.,0nly_one. irradiated fuel. assembly at a time will be moved inside the reactor cavity. A second irradiated fuel assembly will not be moved

'inside the' reactor cavity until the preceding assembly has been moved

_ and operators will be required to myiew the night orders before beginning their shift.

p Please' note that. these measures will be in effect during refueling operations only until the : issue' of cavity seal adequacy is msolved. At that; time,' we will resume our normal refueling operations.
