Generic Letter 96-01 requests licensees take actions to ensure that their surveillance procedures adequately test safety-related equipment as required by the Technical Specifications. The requested actions are: (1) compare i
electrical schematics and logie drawings against the plant surveillance test procedures to ensure that all portions of l
the logic circuitry are properly tested and (2) modify the surveillance procedures as necessary for complete testing l
to comply with the Technical Specifications. The requested schedule for completii.g these actions is prior to startup from the first refueling outage commencing one year after the issuance of this letter.
Wisconsin Electric has reviewed this generic letter and determined that the actions, as requested by the generic letter, will be implemented for Point Beach Nuclear Plant. We are planning to implement the actions requested by the generic letter within the time frame provided. The first refueling outages commencing one year after issuance of GL 96-01 are currently scheduled as follows: March 29,1997, for Unit I and October 11,1997, for Unit 2.
