Dear Mr. Dewease:
By letter dated January 5, 1996, Entergy Operations, Inc. (E01), licensee for Arkansas Nuclear One, Units 1 and 2, Grand Gulf Nuclear Station, River Bend j
Station, and Waterford Steam Electric Station, Unit 3, requested alternatives j
to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 50.55a, " Codes and Standards," under the provisions of paragraphs (a)(3)(i) and (a).(3)(ii).
Our i
review with respect to authorizing alternatives as part of the licensee's ISI programs for the five nuclear units is continuing and we expect to issue our l
findings in the near future.
As related to the alternative for IST programs, we have determined that the request did not contain sufficient information in order to make a determination, pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 50.55a(a)(3), of the acceptability of continuing the current programs. Guidance on submitting plant-specific information for further review is given in the enclosed safety evaluation (SE).
