Revision 29 to the FNP Security Plan Ladies and Gentlemen:
In accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(p), Southern Nuclear Operating Company submits Revision 29 to the FNP Security Plan. In accordance with 10 CFR 50,4(b)(4), the signed original and three copies are being sent to the Document Control Desk, and two copies are being sent to the appropriate Regional Office.
Southern Nuclear has reviewed Revision 29 to the FNP Security Plan concerning VA checks, and has f
determined that the revision does not decrease the safeguards effectiveness of the FNP Security Plan.
Additionally, the VA check process removed from the FNP Security Plan has been incorporated in an FNP Security Procedure, and the process was better defined and improved.
Please note that the information contained in Attachment 1 is safeguards information, and should be withheld from public disclosure in accordance with 10 CFR 73.21. Also note that the FNP Security Plan revision concerning a biometrics access control system (Revision 28) will not be issued until the j
NRC Staff approves the revisions, and the biometrics access control system has been implemented.
(The biometrics revision to the FNP Security Plan will not be number 28, but will be numbered j
sequentially with the appropriate FNP Security Plan revision at that time.)
