IE Bulletin No. 84-02: " Failures of General Electric Type HFA Relays in Use in Class lE Safety Systems"

Letter from John C. Brons to Thomas T. Martin, dated July 17, 1984
Dear Mr. Martin:
Per the referenced letter, the Authority submitted its response to the specific concerns of the subject bulletin. Whereas the specific bulletin concerns do not apply to IP-3, a review of the general concerns for applicability to IP-3 was requested.
As indicated in the referenced letter, the Authority is ascertaining to what extent, if any, the general concerns cited in IE Bulletin No. 84-02 may apply to IP-3.
To date, a detailed and comprehensive relay data base has been established. The Authority, however, is still in the process of obtaining the remaining information necessary to comence evaluation of the established data base.
Upon completion of these evaluations, the Authority will provide the information necessary to close-out this bulletin.
