Remedial Exercise for Hancock County, West Virginia, in M

Support of Reaver Valley Power Station

On December 13, 1984, a remedial exercise was conducted to demonstrate the I

correction of the Category A deficiency identified in Hancock County, West i

Virginia, during the full-participation offsite radiological emergency preparedness exercise conducted on June 27, 1984, in conjunction with the Beaver Valley Power Station. The Category A deficiency involved Hancock 5

County's capability to perform the detailed actions necessary to implement an evacuation.

This tabletop remediai exercise was held in Hancock County and observed by Z

the FEMA Region III RAC Chairman and other FEf1A personnel. The tabletop remedial j

exercise adequately demonstrated correction of the Category A deficiency noted

during the June 27, 1984, exercise.

1 FEttA Region III is attempting,to schedule a remedial exercise to correct the Category A deficiency cited for the State of Pennsylvania in the June 27, 1984, exercise. Once this remedial exercise is completed, a finding on offsite preparedness will be provided.
