Dear Sir:

In Reference 1, you requested that the Authority evaluate the susceptibility of the safety-related electrical system at our James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant to a sustained degradation in voltage of offsite power sources.

The Authority proposed (Reference 2) plant modifications and Technical Specification changes to conform to the positions stated in Reference 1.

In this same letter, we scheduled the completion of these modifications for eighteen (18) months after NRC approval.

6 Attached to Reference 3 was a Technical Evaluation Report and the. associated Safety Evaluation on the proposed modifications;

.both documents concluded that these modifications are acceptable.

We.have scheduled these modifications for installation during the 1986 Refueling outage.

This outage is currently scheduled for the fourth quarter of 1986.'
