Dear Sir:
Enclosed are three (3 ) copies of the Authority's revised Quality Assurance (QA) Program description for the James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant.
This submittal is pursuant to the requirements of 10 CFR 50.54(a).
The incorporation of the revised changes do not reduce the commitments in the program description previously transmitted via the Authority's letter dated June 10, 1983 (IPN-83-57).

The updated QA Program description was previously submitted to the NRC in Chapter 17 of the 1984 Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (Reference 1).
The revised sections are identified by a revision bar drawn'in the seargin adjacent to the portion of text actually changed and is marked with a revision number and date.
-The Authority's QA Program for Indian Point Unit 3 Nuclear Power
- Plant, which is identitical to the FitzPatrick plant, was transmitted via Reference 2.
Your staff has informed us, via Reference 3, that the proposed changes to the Indian Point 3 QA program are acceptable since they do not degrade the previously accepted program.
