SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT CONFIRMATORY ITEM NO. 36 (13.3.2.12)
HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION DOCKET NO. 50-354 At the staff's request, the Salem Memorial Hospital (SMH)
Radiation Emergency Plan, which is referred to in Section 13.2 of the Hope Creek Generating Station Emergency Plan,
.was submitted to the NRC on September 5, 1984.
On September 20, 1984, the staff discussed this hospital plan with Public Service Electric and Gas Company and requested that certain portions of the plan be clarified.
Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G) has had SMH and Radiation Management Corporation (RMC) prepare revisions to the hospital plan and hereby submits the enclosed SMH plan, entitled, " Decontamination and Treatment of the Radio-actively Contaminated Patient at Salem County Memorial l
Hospital", Revision of October 1984.
The following items within this revision are provided as response to the staff's requests resulting from the discussions of September 20, 1984:
Provide procedures to verify the authenticity of o
alert / notification calls ~from the plant to SMH (See Procedure Section E.1).
Provide a caution concerning the collection of o
contaminated materials (See Attachment E, Section f
C.3.)
