Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attn:

Document Controj Desk Washington, DC 20555

Subject:

Ucaver Valley Power Station, Unit No. 1 Dochet No. 50-334, License No. DPR-66 Inspection Report 50-334/92-02 NRC correspondence dated July 29,

1992, requested additional information concerning corrective action for the misinterpretation of test data which permitted an improper mode change to occur.

Specifically, it questioned whether a

mechanism existed to ensure that the results of Temporary Operating Procedures (TOPS), along with appropriate acceptance

criteria, are provided to all groups or individuals respcnsible for making operability decisions based on the results.

To ensure the accurate and timely communication of test results, our Procedure Writer's Guide is being revised to require that all TOPS with acceptance criteria contain procedural steps to notify affected groups of the results of the procedure.

Also, the Nuclear Shift Supervisor (NSS) will be required to review the completed TOP and its acceptance criteria for any operability concerns.

In

addition, system engineers will be assigned as needed with the responsibility of ensuring that the necessary coordination and communication occurs between groups.

If there are any questions concerning this matter, please contact Mr.

N.

R. Tonet at (412) 393-5210.
