Dear Mr. Denton:

The application for construction permits and operating licenses for Byron Generating Station Units 1 and 2 and Braidwood Generating Station Units 1 and 2, docketed on September 20, 1983, are hereby amended by submittal of Amendment 46 pursuant to 10 CFR 50.34.

Amendment 46 to the Byron /Braidwood FSAR consists of responses to new questions from the Auxiliary Systems Branch (010.0 series), the Structural Engineering Branch (130.0 series), and the Effluent Treatment Systems Branch (321.0 series), revised responses to Questions 010.6, 010.8,

. 010.22, 010.57, 022.74, 022.78, 040.6, 040.26, 040.106, 040.108, 241.8

- (Byron), 280.1, and 281.7, and text crages.

Attachment A to this letter is an itemized summary of changes contained in the amendment. ' Attachment B to this letter is a table of differences between pages contained in Amendment 46 and pages previously transmitted to the EC for advance review.

Three signed original and fifty-seven copies of this amendtrent are submitted for EC use.
