E.OINT BE&g.H NUCLEAILPLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 Your letter dated May 28, 1992, transmitted Inspection Report 50-266/ 92008 (DRS) ; 50-301/92008(DRS), which consisted of a review of the Point Beach Nuclear Plant program for in-service testing (IST)-of pumps and valves, and our compliance with NRC positions described in Generic Letter (GL) 89-04, " Guidance on' Developing Acceptable In-Service Testing Programs."
in our letter dated July 31, 1992, we responded to the_ unresolved itema contained in your inspection report.
Based'onLsubsequent diser.asions between our engineering staff and Mr.
J.' Smith of your NkC Region III staff, we have determined it appropriate to. revise our response to one of the unresolved items.
Unresolved Item-266/92008-01(d); 301/92008-01(d) involved position indication verification.of the RHR heat exchanger bypass valve, RH-00626.
In our letter dated July 31(. 1992, we stated that.
position indication verification'of RH-00626_was not necessary
'because-the valve;is not required-to reposition for accident mitigation and consequently is considered passive.
Based oniour discussions.with'Mr. Smith, we have decided to incorporate-position indication _ verification of RH-00626 into-ouriIST_ Program.. We will revise appropriate-Ltest_ procedures by-September.25, 1992. _-Addi-tionally,_we will incorporate the requirement for RH-00626' position indication-verification into the next revision of our IST Program i
