Dear Mr. Denton:
ULNRC 1027 DOCKET NUMBER 50-483 CALLAWAY PLANT, UNIT 1 GENERIC LETTER 84-24, 10CFR50.49 COMPLIANCE
Reference:
Generic Letter 84-24 dated December 27, 1984 t
The referenced generic letter concerned certification of compliance.to 10CFR50.49, environmental qualification of electrical equipment important to safety for nuclear power plants.
This letter required each licensee of an operating reactor to respond within 30 days, certifying their degree of compliance to 10CFR 50.49.
Union Electric did not receive this letter until
. January 14, 1985 and therefore requests an extension to respond 30 days from receipt of the letter (i.e., February 13, 1985).
With the recent issuance of the Callaway Facility Operating License, the status of the Callaway EQ program is well documented with the NRC Staff and the extension should not be a problem..
If there are any questions, please contact us.
Very truly yours, Donald F. Schnell DS/bjk o8 [U.
