under Sections 402 and 316(b) of the Federal Clean Water Act (the Act), for discharges resulting from the construction and cperation of its proposed Greene County Nuclear Power Plant.

Tho proposed station is to be located in the Town of Catskill, Grcene County, on the west shore of the Hudson River, 5 miles s uth of Catskill, New York.

- The. applicant's proposed facility would be an electric g:narating station having one unit, with a ne wer output of i

i 1191 megawatts-electric.

The facility will u uze a pressurized w; tor reactor (PWR) nuclear steam supply system.

The application requests approval of six (6) discharges resulting from the c:nstruction, and two (2) discharges resulting from the operation cf the facility.

These discharges are further described as follows:

Discharge 001 includes condenser cooling water (cooling tower blowdown) ; neutralized domineralizer regeneration wastes, auxiliary b0ilor blowdown, and drainage from certain chemical storage areas; radicactive waste treatment system effluent- (this ' system treats

diccharged to the Hudson _ River through the blowdown diffuser facility loc ted in the Hudson River at a, distance of 137 feet from the ch0raline at a depth of 40 feet.

pursuant to these sections as contained in 40 CFR Part 423, October 8, 1974, titled " Steam Electric Power Generation Point Scurce Category."
