BIOGRAPHY J. LANGDON MARSH EXECUTIVE DEPUTY COMMISSIONER Langdon Marsh, of Altamont, was appointed Executive Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Conservation on July 11, 1983.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Marsh served as Director of the Government Law Center, Albany Law School of Union University. From 1973-78 he served successively as Civil Counsel, General Counsel and First Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Conservation. Prior to state service he served as Chief Housing Planner with the City of New York Bureau of the Budget from 1972 to 1973.

Mr. Marsh is Vice Chair of the Environmental Law Section of the New York State Bar Association and was formerly Legislative Vice President of the Env#.ronmental Planning Lobby. ,

He has written in the areas of toxic and hazardous waste control, groundwater protection and environmental analysis, usually from a legal perspective.

Mr. Marsh received his LL.B. from Harvard Law School in 1966 and his bachelor's degree from Harvard College in 1962.
