Three Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit 1 (TMI-1)
Operating License No. DPR-50 Docket No. 50-289 Proposed Civil Penalty By letter dated February 1, 1985, your office forwarded copies of the remaining investigation report related to the civil penalty proposed by NRC letter dated July 22, 1983. The letter also noted that GPUN's response was due within 30 days (i.e. by March 3, 1985).
Over a year and a half has passed since the civil penalty was proposed and over 3-1/2 years has passed since the violation was first identified.
In view of the long time that has passed and the many items that GPUN is pursuing, we request an additional 30 days (i.e. until April 2, 1985) to respond.
In addition, we believe the soon to be published NRC order based on the February 13, 1985 Commission meeting may have a bearing on our response.
