$U3 JECT: Limerick Generating Statien, Units 1 and 2 issuance of the Core Openating Limits Reports for Unit 1, Cycle 5 (Rev.0) and Unit 2, Cycle 2 (Rev. 3)

Gentlemen:

Enclosed are copies of the Core Operating Limits Reports (COLRs) for Limerick Generating Station (LGS), Unit 1, Cycle 5 (Rev. 0) and Unit 2, Cycle 2 (Rev. 3).

Each COLR provides the cycle-specific parameter limits for: Average Planar Linear Heat Generation Rate (APLHGR); Minimum Critical Power Ratio (MCPR); Flow Adjustment Factor (K,); Steam Bypass Systen Operability; Linear Heat Generation Rate (LHGR); and Rod Block Monitor (RBM) flow biased upscale and high flow clamped setpoints for LGS Unit 1, Cycle 5 and Unit 2, Cycle 2. These values have been determined using NRC-a) proved methodology and are established such that all applicable limits of tie plant safety analysis are met.

These COLRs were issued to the LGS staff on June 10, 1992 and May 14, 1992, for LCS, Units 1 and 2 respectively, and are being submitted to the NRC in accordance with LGS, Units 1 and 2 Technical Specifications (TS) Section 6.9.1.12.

Rev. 3 of the COLR for LGS Unit 2. Cycle 2 corrects a typographical error found on page 3 under the section titled, "MCPR LIMIT." The second paragraph in this section indicates that the MCPR values given in figures 7 through 16 of this COLR are the bounding values for " Increased Core Flow" with a paranthetical statement in Rev. 2 of the COLR incorrectly stating that increased Core flow is "up to 105%

power." Rev. 3 of this COLR corrects this paranthetical statement to read "up to 105% flow." All of the MCPR values given in the associated Figures are correct, and therefore, this typographical error does not represent a potential safety concern.

If you have any questions, pleasa do not hesitate to contact us.

Very truly yours,

,}6'.. .
