Refueling and Fuel Handling Specification Changes Attached is a request for a change to the Technical Specifications, Appendix A of the Operating Licenses, for the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant.
This. request is submitted in accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR Part 50, Section 50.90.
This license amendment r quest proposes changes to Prairie Island Technical Specification Section 3.8 intended to clarify the applicability of the j
requirements for containment closure during refueling.
4 This license amendment request also proposes changes to Prairie Island
. Technical Specification Sections 3.8 and 4.1 which will clarify the requirements for operability and load testing of the fuel handling cranes.
Exhibit A contains a description of the proposed changes, the reasons for requesting the changes and the supporting safety evaluation /significant hazards determination.
Exhibit B contains current Prairie Island Technical l
Specification pages marked up to show the proposed changes.
Exhibit C contains the revised Technical Specification pages.
Due to the. complexity.of the two unit outage scheduled for the Fall of 1992,
