DPR-42 DOCKET No. 50-306, LICENSE NO. DPR-60 In further response to IE Balletin 84-02, the reviews requested on page 5 of the Bulletin have been completed. Relay operating history was reviewed. NPRDS failure data was reviewed.
Relays are tested periodically; most safeguards and protection relays are tested monthly. We have no history of common mode failures except for the Westinghouse NBFD relays, which have been the subject of other correspondence with your office. We find that the general concerns expressed in the Bulletin do not apply to relays used in safety-related applications at this facility.
