Docket No. 50-336-OLA ASLBP No. 92-665-02-OLA Ladies and Gentlemen:
I am responding to your letter of 22 June 1992 regarding the design change of the spent fuel pool at Unit 2 of t1111 stone Nuclear Power Station in Waterford Connecticut. I offer the following with regards to the arguments presented in the letter signed by John T. Hull, Counsel for NRC Staff and Edwin J. Reis, Deputy Assistant General Counsel for Reactor Licensing:
1.) fig interests and the interests of my f amily would most certainly be affected by a nuclear spill resulting from the proceding being considered in this licensing application by Northeast Nuclear Energy Company. As stated in my letter, a spent fuel accident resulting in the release of radioactivity to the air would contaminate surf ace drinking water reservoirs as well as soil and food. t1g profemian as an architect would likewise be dramatically adversely affected torough conamination of lands and buildings in this geographical area 2.) With regard to the alleged untimeliness of mg petition, the telephone number listed in the Federal Register was invalid though I was ultimately able to contact by telephone tir. John Stolz of the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board. In addition to notifying t1r. Stolz of my concerns I stated to him that my confirming letter was forthcoming. f1y letter was indeed forwarded in a timely f ashion.
I am grateful that my petition es well es the petitions of other members of The Cooperative Citizens t1onitoring Network are still being considered.
eryt ly yours, l
ichael J ray, AI A V
