On August 1, 1989, Entergy Operaticns, Inc. received Generic Letter (GL) 89-13, Service Water System Problems Affecting Safety-Related Equipment.
GL 89-13 required licensees to submit information regarding their service water systems to assure compliance to regulatory requirements and to confirm that the safety functions of their service water systems are being met.
On January 29, 1990, Entergy submitted an initial response to Generic Letter 89-13.
In this response Entergy described the programs and actions, both in place and planned, that would adequately satisfy the recommendations of GL 89-13.
The Staff, by way of letter dated December 13, 1990, accepted our response on the basis that it fulfilled the requirement of GL 89-13.
The attached is the final response to GL 89-13 which is required to be submitted within 30 days of completion of all initial tests or program activities.
This letter confirms that all initial tests and activities have been completed and that continuing programs have been established as required by the generic letter. This information is being provided under affirmation pursuant to 10CFR50.54(f).

Conduct n test program to verify the heat t rnus fer capability of nll safety-related heat exchangers cooled by service water.
GGNS Response GGNS has developed a heat removal performance and testing program for safety-related hent exch9ngers supplied by the Standby Service Water (SSW) System.
Baseline data for these heat exchangers have been established for implementation of t he program as required by GL 89-13.

Thermal performance testing of SSW Loops A and C heat exchangers was performed during Refueling Outage Number 4 with the exception of RilR A pump room and RilR A. pump sent coolers which were tested during Refueling Outage Number 5.

Thermal performance testing cf SSW Loop B hent exchangers, RilR A pump room cooler, and RilR A pump sent cooler was pnrformed during Refuniing Out.nge Number 5.
