20555 Docket # 50-336 Motion to amend petition to intervene and Motion for lecve to file cdditional affidavit The bocrd of CCMU wcs unsbic to act in suffieicnt time for the May 28, ;992 Fedcral Rcgister deadline with regard to the neccssary design chcngc necded by Northeast Utilitics foi continued usc of the spent fuci pool at M111stonc II following the discovcry of design flaws tn the pool.
This board recognized the issuc and is thereby capowering our coordinator Mary Ellen Marucci to act on our behnif beforc the NRC in this matter.
On May 25, 1992, becausc of thc difficulty our coordinator had in gctting the information from the NRC, Connecticut state agencies und Northeast Utilities, there was insufficient time to get CCHN bo*ard cpproval for intervention as an organization, but Ms. Marucci did requcst of the NRC time to obtain such upproval.
With full understanding of the mission of out organization, she rcqucsted to intervene as an individual and to.have the NRC hold public hearing prior to issuance of license in order to protect the hctith and safety of the community.
She made that rcquest as an individual pending the approval of our board.
Now thct the board has given its approval and designatcs Ms. Marucci to reprcscnt CCMN in this actter before the NRC, Ms. Marucci will cease rcprcsenting herself cs an individual and will now represent the organiection and any members and unaffiliated persons or organizations who dculgnate CCMN to represent them in this matter.
We will submit affidavits from these people who reside within the ten mile zone of Millstonc II power station and others who fecl that the operation of this spent fuc1 pool may causc them l
1rroparabic damagc.
These rcquests for affidavits from our members will be mallcd on Junc 22, 1992 and we will need at least ten l
business days for mail turncround time before we will be abic to call thcsc uffidavits to the NRC.
