20555 Gentlemen:
Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant Units 1 and 2 MODIFIED AMENDED SECURITY PLAN (MASP) j REVISION 29 l contains Revision 29 to the MASP, which is hereby l
submitted in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54 (p).
The revision l
addresses several changes made possible by a rulemaking effective October 10, 1995, regarding the deletion of certain security requirements (10 CFR 73.55 (d) (8) ) for controlling the access of personnel and materials into reactor containment during periods of high traffic, such as refueling and major maintenance, f
The revision also includes the plant's commitment to and completion of requirements in accordance with 10 CFR 73.55 (c) (7), " Vehicle control measures...,"
specifically, the Protection Against Malevolent Use of. Vehicles at Nuclear Power Plants and the concomitant deletion of Event 15 of Appendix C.
Additionally, the revision covers the deletion of Chapter 8 l

applicable.
Also included in this revision are the addition of a Biometric Hand Geometry System for controlling unescorted access to the Protected Area and organizational changes related to corporate restructuring.
The description of the Spent Fuel Area has been changed to include the adjacent New Fuel Vault during specific plant conditions.
Finally, a clarification to Chapter 6, Section 6.5.2 regarding the concurrence of computer command codes was addressed and 6.2.1.7 was changed to better describe the location of vehicle searches prior to entry into the Protected Area.
