Dear Mr. Wright:
The purpose _of this letter is to request a change of exam dates for NRC administered licensed operator requal and initial license exams. Currently we conduct the requal exam each June and the initial license exam each December according to the National Exam Schedule. Ve would like to change the sequence so that the initial lice.ise exams are given in June and the requal exams in December.. Th's change will allow us to begin an :nitial license class this summer and not change our exam months on the National Evam Schedule.
We would like to' start an initial license class this July in order to support adding an additional licensed operator to our shift crws. We do not intend to use the month of December, 199? for any exams.
We will.be conducting requal exams the week of June 8,1992. We propose to
. schedule the next requal exam in December,1993 in order to free up June,1993 for initial license exams. All licensed operators whose licenses expire through 1994 will ba examined this year with the exception of two ino'viduals.
These two individuals will have two opportunities to take NRC requal exams prior to their licenses expiring in 1994.
Enclosures 1 and 2 to this letter provide our best estimate of the number of candidates to be examined during each period assigned to us by the National Exam Schedule. Enclosure.3 provides an estin' ate of candidate numbers for the Generic Funde.mentals Exam.
