Generic Letter 91-14. " Emergency Telecommunications," was issued by the NRC on September 23, 1991.
Thc purpose of this letter was to inform licensees of efforts to implement an upgrade to the emergency telecommunication system.
The NRC requested that the necessary plant modifications be completed within 90 days of installation of the FTS-2000 lines to the plant site. However, if extenuating circumstances exist, such as plant outages, then up to six months will be permitted.
Installation of the FTS-2000 telephone lines to Farley Nuclear Plant was completed by the NRC on March 13, 1992. Onsite FTS-2000 installation required plant modifications which were performed during the recent Unit 2 eighth refueling outage. As agreed upon by Mr. Tom Baldesi of the Telecommunication Branch via teleconference on May 1,1992, Farley Nuclear Plant will complete the FTS-2000 installation effort (as identified in of Generic Letter 91-14) on or about July 15, 1992.
Upon completion of onsite installation, the one month operational testing phase will follow.
