Dear Mr. Taylor:
By letter dated November 21, 1984, (Log No. 1-1062) the NRC transmitted to the Toledo Edison Company a Notice of Violation and Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalties for alleged violations identified in Inspection Report No. 50-346/84-15(DRP). Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR Part 2.201, Toledo Edison is required to submit a written response to the Notice of Violation under oath or affirmation by December 21, 1984 for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit No. 1.
In order to provide a complete and detailed response to the Notice of Violrtion, Toledo Edison hereby respectfully requests an extension of the response due date to January 15, 1985 based on the following circumstances:
1.
Toledo Edison is preparing its response (due mid December 1984) to the NRC Performance Appraisal Inspection Report.
2.
Toledo Edison is preparing for_a December 20, 1984 meeting designed to discuss the upcoming NRC Systematic Assessment of Licensee Perform-ance Inspection Report.
3.
Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station is nearing the end of its current refueling outage and, therefore, Toledo Edison's manpower level requirements are extensive. The outage is scheduled to end in late December to ensure adequate power requirements are available during the Winter season.
Therefore, based on the above, Toledo Edison requests an extension of the response due date to January 15, 1985.
