"SHOLLY" STATISTICS Attached for your information is a table indicating a very low level of public interest and comments on proposed amendments issued pursuant to
" Shelly".
The statistics cover the period May 6 through November 22, 1983.
A request for hearing has been received on the Salem notice regarding extending the interval for the second inservice integrated leak rate test.
One addi-ticnal ccament was received on TMI-1 as a result of publication on August 25, 1953 of a Notice of Additional Opportunity.
Two requests for a hearing were t
received on the Turkey ' Point Units 3 and 4 notice related to proposed oper-ational-iimits for current and futur-e' reioads.
One comment was received on the Susquehanna notice on ESW pump load sequence timers.
Since May 6, we have processed about 800 items for notice and comment', of which cnly four of tne proposed no-significant-hazards-consideration finding have resulced in either comments or requests for hearing.
As of October 26, there rer.:ained 232 items yet to be noticed, with the backlog completely eliminated for a few plants.
After a full year, I plan to determine'whether we should
. seek legislative changes in this area.
