Attachment to GNRO-96/00018 FITNESS FOR DUTY SIX-MONTH REPORT JULY 1, 1995 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 1995

]

Manaaement Action:

Management actions to enhancing the Fitness for Duty Program during this l

reporting period were:

Company procedure OM105, Fitness for Duty, was revised to strengthen e

program requirements to ensure that Entergy Operations employees not requiring unescorted access adhere to all provisions of the FFD program l

with the exception of random drug / alcohol testing. Contractors and vendor personnel not requiring unescorted access are subject to for cause testing, including post acciden drug / alcohol testing in accordance with the provisions of this procedure. While random testing is not required for non-keycarded personnel, the company procedure continues to provide the desired deterrent.

1 Management has endcrsed the development of a new Fitness for Duty computer program. The new program, which will be designed to work in conjunction with other Entergy Operations specific applications, will eventually replace the HEIDI software which is currently being used.

The new software will allow more timely access to information, simplify processes, reduce redundant data entry and will operate on a local area j

network.

Implementation is scheduled for June 1996.

i l

Fitness for Duty Initiatives Taken:

This new software program is being created with the input of all sites which is scheduled to be implemented near the end of March, 1996.

Assistance was provided to River Bend in preparations for RF06.

Random testing rate during this period was 35.8%.

1 Effectiveness Evaluation.

The Fitness for Duty program continues to update and revise procedures based on operating experiences, lessons learned and NRC audits conducted at other nuclear sites to ensure a drug free workplace. Data trend analysis during the reporting period indicated no program weaknesses requiring evaluation for corrective action.
