REVISION 5 OF THE SSAR

Dear Mr. Quay:

Enclosed is Revision 5 of the AP600 Standard Safety Analysis Report (SSAR). Also enclosed are revised tables of contents for affected chapters, change page instructions, list of effective pages, and a change roadmap outlining the changes in each section. Tabs are being provided for the overall table of contents, list of effective pages and the change roadmap. The revision is in the form of

. replacement sections to be inserted into the SSAR binders to replace the superseded pages. The document cover sheet is also enclosed. The original document cover sheets should not be discarded.

Thirty-six copies are being sent to Diane Jackson. Additionally, copies are being sent directly to ACRS Members and NRC subcontractors.

Portion of Chapter 16 and Section 6.2 previously provided as hand written markups to a limited distribution are provided as a formal revision with the markups incorporated. The changes noted are from the previoui; formal revision. These section have' no changes in addition to the changes provided in the previous markup. The information previously provided in appendices to Chapter 15 has been included in a WCAP report and the appendices are deleted. Many of the DSER open items are closed by submittal of this revison. The itemization of those items closed by this transmittal will be provided by separate cover.

The Westinghouse Electric Corporation copyright notice, proprietary information notice, application ,

These lower case letters refer to the types of information Westinghouse customarily holds in confidence identified in Section (4)(ii)(a) through (4)(ii)(f) of the
