Dear Dr. Grace:
On page four of our original response to this bulletin, dated November 21, 1984, the item concerning emergency operating procedures in the event of decreasing levels in either the refueling cavity or the spent fuel pool was addressed. We wish to clarify that the statement on page four applies only to McGuire. At this time, Catawba has not yet moved fuel with the refueling cavity or spent fuel pool filled with water.
Steps to direct the operator at Catawba in the event of decreasing level will be incorporated into the Periodic Test for refuelitig when that test has been written.
