From Dr. Clifford Knapp, Faculty Chair, Outdoor Teacher Education
'(, A.
Subject Operation of the Dyron Nuclear Pvwer Plant As the chair for the outdoor teacher education faculty at Lorado Taft Field Campus, (two miles away), I have a serious concern about the proj ected operation of the Byron Nuclear Power Plant.
In the event of an accident in which excessive radiation is emitted from the plant, how would the participants at Lorado Taft Field Campus be evacuated rapidly? Often, there are as many as 150 people in residence here.
Busses which transport the children to the campus leave after unloading them.
Busses return two days later to pick the children up again.
Until such a plan is in place, I would request a moratorium on the operation of the Byron Plant.
