OF CLOSED PRE-SUBMITTAL MEETING FOR THE FUTURE SUBMITTAL OF WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC COMPANY WESTINGHOUSE ADVANCED DOPED PELLET TECHNOLOGY ADOPT') FUEL (EPID L-2020-TOP-0013)
On April 7, 2020, a closed pre-submittal meeting in a form of teleconference was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff and Westinghouse Electric Company (Westinghouse) representatives. The purpose of the meeting was for Westinghouse to present the information related to the future submittal of Westinghouse topical report (TR)
WCAP-18482-P, Westinghouse Advanced Doped Pellet Technology (ADOPT') Fuel.
Westinghouse presented information on historical background and operating experience of ADOPT fuel, licensing strategy and TR overview, qualification data overview, analytical methods and modeling including PAD5 model justification, loss-of-coolant accident (LOCA) analysis, and non-LOCA TRs, containment integrity analysis, radiological consequences analyses, nuclear design codes and methods, and thermohydraulic design methods. By letter dated March 9, 2020, Westinghouse submitted an executive summary (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML20069F796) and by letter dated March 30, 2020, submitted presentation slides (ADAMS Accession No. ML20090G200).
