Lona Term Program - Schedule Revision
Dear Sir:
4 In accordance with Section V.B of the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station - Long Term Program, Boston Edison Company hereby provides written notification of a change to a Schedule B item.
Prior notification was provided via telecon on November 2,1984 to Mr. Paul Leech of your office.
The. item to be changed is Emergency Operating Procedures (EOP's), currently listed with a November 28, 1984 implementation date. The preparation, i
verification, validation, and operator training is complete for the E0P's; however, changes to existing procedures which are influenced by the E0P's must.
be reviewed and revised, as necessary, before we consider this item to be complete. The onsite Operations Review Committee must also review and approve the E0P's and changes to related station procedures. Therefore, it is our intention to review the procedure changes and provide training to the licensed operators simultaneously during license requalification classes scheduled for January 2, through February 1,1985. This compels us to revise the Long Term Program implementation date for E0P's to March 15, 1985.
j This schedule change also impacts a related commitment contained in our letter
- of June 20, 1984, which dealt with Item II.K.3.16 of NUREG 0737.
In that letter we stated that PNPS E0P-1, "RPV Control, Level and Pressure", would be rewritten to incorporate instructions for an equivalent manual action in place of low-Low Set (LLS) relief valve logic. This was to be in effect prior to startup from RF0 #6, but, as part of the E0P program, will not be for the reasons given above.
Should you require further information or clarification on this subject, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Very truly yours 4
