PLE- 6341 Dear Mr. Koval.

Please find the October 1984 NPDES Discharge Monitoring Report for Permit No.

PA 00227448. Noncompliances for October were as follows.

1. The' average fecal coliform concentration limit of 2000 colonies /100 ml was exceeded on October 3, when 2300 were present in the effluent.

No other samples were collected during the month,

2. The final effluent pH was below 6.0 on October 23 (5.86), October 24 (5.70), and October 25 (5.96). The cause was over-aeration of the beds and the pH returned to normal after the aeration rate was reduced.

l Aeration tank number three was removed from service for sandblasting, painting and replacement of some pipes and valves on October 8, 1984, and was returned to service on November 15, 1984. Tank number three being out of service may also have contributed to these noncompliances.
