Toledo Edison acknowledges receipt of your October 2, 1984 letter (Log No.
1-1038), and enclosure Inspection Report No. 50-346/84-21(DRSS).
The inspection report identified no items of noncompliance with NRC re-quirements, however, the inspectors did observe a problem with low air flow in laboratory fume hoods and request a response to what action will be or has been taken to restore air flows to within acceptable limits.
Subsequent to this inspection, Toledo Edison has repaired the laboratory j
fume hoods and velocity measurements were taken on October 17, 1984, with the following results:
Hot Lab (contaminated area) 190 ft/ min.
Hot Lab (clean area) 130 ft/ min.
Cold Lab 135 ft/ min.
Primary Sample Panel 155 ft/ min.
Testing of these hoods were added to the Davis-Besse preventative mainte-nance program.
