Dear Mr. Hunter:
Reference 1) transmitted Inspection Report STN 50-482/84-08. Reference
- 2) provided Kansas Gas and Electric Company's (KG&E) response to Reference 1).
Reference 3) requested additional information regarding the generic aspects of violations 482/8408-2 and 482/8408-3. This letter provides KG&E's response to Reference 3).
Reference 3) specifically asked:
(1) are there additional System Discrepancy Lists that should be listed on the Turnover Exception List, and (2) are there additional System Discrepancy Lists not properly logged as closed.
As stated in Reference 2), Construction Procedure AP-VI-02 was revised to give responsibility for maintaining the SDL Log to the Project Quality Engineer (PQE). Upon initiation of this procedural requirements, the PQE cbtained copies of closed SDLs from the various discipline files in order to re.concile the SDL Log. This effort showed that there were missing SDLs and inaccuracies in the SDL Log.

Mr. D.R. Hunter KMLNRC 84-148 August 20, 1984 be evaluated and addressed in accordance with applicable Site procedures to assure that all identified discrepancies have been corrected. The reviews and reconciliation of the previous SDLs and the SDL Log is scheduled for completion by October 1, 1984..
The' inaccuracies in the SDL Log reflect the early stages of the system turnover process during which SDLs were not individually logged. Several enhancements have since been made to the turnover process and procedures now in effect assure that all SDLs being produced are properly accounted.
