DOCKET NOS. 50-266 AND 50-301 REPLY TO INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-266/84-15 AND 50-301/84-13 POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 The subject inspection reports, transmitted with W. D. Shafer's letter of October 16, 1984, states that procedure ICP 10.2 was not followed in removing source range Channel 31 from service.

Licensee Event Report No. 84-004-00 (Point Beach Unit 2) was submitted on October 24, 1984 and describes this occurrence.

We accept your finding that this incident constitutes a Technical Specification violation.

As mentioned in LER 84-004-00, we will discuss this incident with all operators and emphasize the importance of adhering to approved procedures.

Completion of this item is expected by November 30, 1984.
