. February 2, 1985 Mr. Ivan W. Smith 11125 Powder Horn' Drive Potomac, Maryland 20854

Dear Mr. Smith:

.Your letter to Judge Sylvia Rambo in the matter of the James R.

Floyd conviction is just another example of the shameful way that you have ' conducted the TMI hearings. You have done a grave disservice to the people of this area by your constant attempts to excuse the criminal actions and gross mismanagement practices of Met-Ed/GPU.

You say you know nothing about Mr. Floyd except for the informa-

- tion produced at the public hearings, yet in the next paragraph you say how hard he worked and that he really didn't -mean to cheat. You say how management depended on him in addressihg the many problems needing solution on the island.

(You bet they did! - and he was convictedbyajury.)

, Everyone knows why Met-Ed/GPU pleaded no contest to most of the criminal charges against them, yet you insist on making excuses for them.

We live here and we know what happened at TMI and what is still going on.

We are trying to protect our homes and families and you come here excusing the criminals that almost destroyed us.

We don't want another accident. We don't want any TMI nuclear power plants.

Apparently you don't care how we feel. Maybe people on Powder Horn Drive are used to making excuses for corporations like Met-Ed/GPU.

Fine. You stay on Powder Horn Drive,.but let us live in peace. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Sincerely, g.
