Dear Mr. O'Reilly:

SUMMARY

Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) responded to your-letter dated July 22, 1983, IE Bulletin 83-07, "Apparently Fraudulent Products Sold by Ray Miller, Inc."; Supplement 1, dated October 26,'1983; and Supplement 2, dated December 9, 1983 in letters dated March 23, 1984 (Serial No. NLS-84-130) and Jone 1, 1984 (Serial No. NLS-84-231). The bulletin contained data regarding apparently fraudulent products sold by Ray Miller, Inc. and requested certain actions by licensees.

DISCUSSION The Company provides the following additional information concerning the status of actions taken in reaoonse to the bulletin.

The bulletin required identification of companies that supplied materiale or-services to the Brunswick, H. B. Robinson and Shearon Harris. plants. The supplemental response of June i stated:

" Carolina Power & Light will notify the NRC if any Ray Miller, Inc. supplied materials are identified as.being supplied to CP&L."

No Ray Miller, Inc. supplied materials have been identified as being supplied to the Company since the June 1 letter. No further action is planned. The response of March 23 stated that the Company.

would implement a program to reduce the probability of accepting fraudulent or nonconforming materials. A supplemental receipt inspection program to aid in detecting fraudulent or. nonconforming materials has been implemented at the Brunswick, 'H. B. Robinson and Shearon Harris nuclear plants.
