Transmitted herewith is Application for Amendment No. 5 to Memphis State University Facility Operating License No. A-127, Docket 50-538. This application is submitted pursuant to 10 CFR 50.90.
Memphis State University (MSU) has terminated operations at its nuclear reactor facility. Due to the limited time during which licensed Senior Operators will be available on compus, MSU requests that its existing operating license be amended to authorize " possession-only" in SAFSTOR status. Approval of this request will aseure protective storage of the reactor and reactor fuel by the remaining permanent MSU staff while more specific plans for decommissioning the facility are being finalized.
