(1) AECH-83/0664, 10-5-83 (2) AECM-83/0822, 1-3-84 (3) AECM-84/0105, 2-17-84 Extensions for Finsi Responses for PRD's 83-14, 83-17 and 84-03 AECM-84/2-0020 On November 1, 1984, Mississippi Power & Light Company (MP&L) contacted Mr. R. Carroll, of your office, and requested extensions for submittal of final responses for three deficiencies on Unit 2 identified as potentially reportable under 10CRF50.55(e) by MP&L per References 1, 2 and 3.

These potentially reportable deficiencies were identified earlier as PRD's 83-14, 83-17 and 84-03 in References 1, 2 and 3 respectively. Tbc subject deficiencies are all related to Transamerica Delaval, Inc. (TDI) Diesel Cencrators problems.

MP&L has previously determined that the subject deficiencies are reportable under the provisions of 10CFR21 for Unit 1.

Finni 10CFR21 reports for Unit I were provided in References 1, 2 and 3.

MP&L prefers to delay final determination of reportability under 10CFR50.55(c) and corrective action for Unit 2 untti we can review and evaluate the TDI Diesel Generator owners Group recommendations. These recommendations were just recently received by MP&L. Due to the magnitude of these recommendations we do not expect to be able to review and evaluate these until the Intter part of December 1984.

Taking that into consideration we requested Mr. Carroll to grant an extension to January 26, 1985 for submittal of the subject final reports.
