Under the Beaver Valley Power. Station Unit No. 1 License DPR-66, and in accordance with the requirements of Specifications 6.9.1.12 and 6.9.1.13 of the Technical Specifications, the Semi-Annual Radioactive Effluent Release Report is hereby submitted.
This report has been prepared in accordance with USNRC Regulatory Guide 1.21, Revision 1, and the format presented in Appendix B of that guide.
The applicable quarterly radiation dose assessments are submitted in this report as Table 5.
They were performed for all Liquid and Gaseous Effluents that were released from Beaver Valley Power Station Unit No.
1.
All doses listed in this Table were calculated in accordance with the Offsite Dose Calcultion Manual for the maximum individual at the identified receptor locations.
Documentation of the Effluent Monitoring Instrumentation Channels not returned to operable status within 30 days (during the report period) is provided as Table 6.
This table includes the information required by Action Statement b.
of Technical Specification 3.3.3.9 and 3.3.3.10.
Attachment 1 to this report (following Table 6) includes the licensee initiated changes made to the Offsite Dose Calculation Manual during the second six months of 1984.
This information is supplied per Technical Specification 6.9.1.13.
Table 1A of this report includes estimated values of tritium activity for the third quarter.
The estimations are due to three missed tritium samples from batch discharges of the gaseous waste decay tanks.
This information is supplied as partial corrective action to Unresolved Item 84-20-01 of NRC Inspection 84-20.

24,. the time between grab sample analyses exceeded 8 hours9.259259e-5 days
0.00222 hours
1.322751e-5 weeks
3.044e-6 months
while the following two Gross Activity Liquid Effluent Monitors were declared inoperable.
The two monitors are the Auxiliary Feed Pump Bay Drain. Monitor (RM-DA-100) and the Component Cooling-Recirculation Spray Heat Exchangers River Water Monitor
.(RM-RW-100).
All the appropriate grab samples were taken within 8
-hours and subsequently-analyzed for isotopic concentrations.
None of these analyses indicated any isotopic concentrations greater than the lower limits of detectability (LLD), therefore there were no safety implications to the health and safety of the public or plant-personnel.
Very truly yours, 7
