Dear Mr. Kniel ff

.j[

We would like the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commissicq to review our Topical Report for our Nuclear Containment Area Insulation System (Tu'K'on).

An

' " *~'"

_ abstract-of__the Topical Report is attached.

We have been in contact with Jim Snell and he is fully acquainted with our

-system.

Jim has suggested, and we agree, that we should make a formal technical presentation of our system to all those who will-be involved in the review process. We would like to make this' presentation when we submit

~~~
our Topical Report.
We hope this can be arranged the first week in August.
Our Nu'K'on insulation system has been completely developed and tested. The
' industry is.becoming excited about our system because we of fer both eco-nomic and technical advantages over systems used in the past. We began intensive marketing of our system in January of this year.
The industry's
' interest is clearly demonstrated by the following list of projects we have or will be allowed to bid on J_0 B, BID TO Midland #1 & 2 Bechtel
' Perry #1 & 2 Cleveland Electric illuminating System's '80' Equipment Combustion Engineering Comanche Peak #1 & 2 Texas Utilities Services, Inc.
Seabrook #1 &'2 United Engineers & Constructors Waterford #3 Ebasco
. WPPSS #3 6 5 Ebasco WPPSS #1 & 4 United Engineers & Constructors South Texas Project #1 & 2 Brown & Root In addition,- we are being technically evaluated for the bidder's list on ten
.(10) other projects.
This Topical Report illustratca that the Nu'K'on system will not cause the malfunction of any component or Icad to a health hazard during normal operations; and, will not_ retard the operation of any cmergency system or complicate the ef fects of an accident when used in light water nucicar po..er plants.
The report includes a listin8 of both normal and accident design conditions; a complete potential problera analy-sin for insulation in generall description and analysis of the specific testing program used; a listing of all results and conclusions; and recoranendations for the general evaluations of inculation systems for saf ety performance.
